Edward Paul Rolince, 91, of Westvale, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, June 28, 2015. Born in Leckrone, PA of Mary (Washko) and Joseph Rolince, the family later moved to Tipperary Hill where he grew up. Ed graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School where he played basketball, baseball and football. He enlisted in the US Army after graduation in 1942 and served with honors as a 1st SGT/T3 in the Medical Ship Platoon that saw action in Italy and New Guinea. Shortly after returning home, Ed married Margaret Volsko, his beloved wife of 58 years. He was an employee of Rollway Bearing Co. for 44 years and a real estate agent for Normoyle Realty for 35 years. Devoted to public service, Ed served as the first president of the Westfall Acres Homeowners Association and later as the Town of Geddes health inspector, town councilman, police chairman, and town assessor. A faithful 62-year-long communicant and supporter of Holy Family Church, Ed served as an usher. He was also a life member of the Stanley B. Pennock Post VFW, member of the local Republican Party Committee and the Van Duyn Guild. A lover of golf, Ed was a longtime member of the Syracuse Seniors Golfing league. Ed was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, in 2005. Surviving are his son, David (Doreen) of Attleboro, MA; daughters, Marilyn (Gary) Bratt of Brewerton and Anne Marie (Gary) Wilcox of Binghamton; sisters, Veronica Stepien and Evelyn Helmstetter; beloved grandchildren, Eric, Natalee, Sarah, Adam, Leah and Laura; and scores of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 1 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Thursday, July 2 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
