Edward J. Tracy

July 21, 1944 — March 28, 2021

Edward J. Tracy, 76, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he was a graduate of Vocational High School. Edward was employed as a computer operator with Marine Midland Bank in North Syracuse, lieutenant with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Special Deputy Unit and retired as a security officer from National Grid. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending and tailgating SU Football games. Above all, Edward loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Edward was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Marie; brother, Charles; and nephew, Douglas Tracy.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Carol (Edmondson); daughters, Taryn (Joe) Chapola and Erin (Chris) Snyder, both of Syracuse; grandchildren, Jordan (Lisa) Tracy, Caden Chapola and Caleb and Nathan Snyder; great-grandson, Nathan; sister, Sharon (Dennis) Rudoi of Casselberry, FL; brothers, Timothy (Marilyn) of Syracuse and Patrick (Pam) of Camillus; and several nieces.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, April 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Face coverings are required.

Services will be private. Edward will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
