Edward J. Rybak, 92, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2020 at Loretto. He was a graduate of Blodgett Vocational High School and a Navy veteran of WWII. He was employed in the optical business for over 40 years. Ed was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was an avid SU sports fan and loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping. Above all, Ed loved spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, wealth of jokes and homemade Polish pickles.
Ed was predeceased by his parents; two sisters; three brothers; and daughter, Suzanne Rybak Thomas.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Barbara (Farrell); children, James Rybak of Woodstock, GA, Nancy (David) Grant of Liverpool, John (Jeannie) Rybak of Camillus and Mary (Dwight) Thompson of Camillus; son-in-law, Lee Thomas of North Syracuse; grandchildren, Keith, Jared, Andrew, Julianna, Rebecca, Jonathan, Brian, Meghan and Kristen; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Holy Family Church. A funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. in church. A celebration of life for Edward will be held in the spring.
