Edward J. Michalowski, 97, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday at home. Born in Rochester, he spent most of his life in the Camillus area. Edward was a WWII veteran and worked at Carrier Corp. He was employed in the sheet metal business for over 35 years. Edward was a member of the Sheet Metal Rail and Transportation Union Local #58. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. Edward enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with family and friends.
Edward was predeceased by his wife, Lois; parents, James and Marcella; sisters, Helen English and Alfreda Michalowski; and brother, Joseph Pocious.
Surviving are his nieces, Carol Park, Kathleen Tatlock, Deborah Collins and Joy Pocious-Corbit; nephews, James English and Joseph Pocious; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and caregiver, Dawn Daino.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, March 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Edward will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
