Edward J. Lundy Jr., 93, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at home. A lifetime resident of the Solvay/Camillus area, he was a graduate of Solvay High School and a Navy veteran of World War II. Ed retired after 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Warners. A communicant of Holy Family Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Tom Dooley AOH division one. He was past commander of the American Legion Knifetown Post #1540 and former member of the Camillus Optimists. Ed was involved in a variety of youth organizations but above all, enjoyed spending time with his family. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Gertrude Lundy; and brother, Wallace Lundy. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, the former Mary Murphy; daughter, Kathleen Lucas of Camillus; sons, Dennis (Rose) of LaFayette and Edward (Kristen) of New Port Richey, FL; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Monday, May 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Tuesday at 9:15 at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Ed will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
