Edward J. Gorman, 69, of Baldwinsville and formerly of Fairmount, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Syracuse Home Association. Born in Syracuse on Monday, February 3, 1941, he was the son of Ruth Lilley Gorman and Edward J. Gorman. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was employed by Crucible Steel Corp. for 37 years. Ed was an Army veteran and former communicant of Holy Family Church. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, the former Patricia Poppe; daughters, Heather Coleman of Syracuse and Deborah DiFlorio of Baldwinsville; sister, Colleen Endress of Mass.; grandchildren, Lynndsi, Taylor, Kaleigh and Riley Coleman and Leah DiFlorio; great-granddaughter, Chanel; great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, William. The family would like to thank the Syracuse Home Association for their loving care and compassion for Ed. Relatives and friends may call Monday, December 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 7 at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
