Edward H. Dobie

Edward H. Dobie, 75, of Marcellus, passed away Saturday. Born in Waterloo, he lived in Syracuse before moving to Stuart, Florida for 20 years. Ed returned to Syracuse in 2012. He was a graduate of Waterloo High School and Cortland State College. Ed owned and operated car washes in Syracuse. He was able to enjoy his passion for fishing by captaining his boats for his charter fishing businesses in Oswego and Stuart. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Grace Dobie and a brother, Robert. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Cynthia Hedden; son, Mark (Robin) Dobie of Camillus; daughters, Linda (Thomas) Taylor of Marietta and JoAnn (Randal) Swartwood of Onondaga Hill; four grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth McBurney and Anne Nozzolio; and brother, Frederick. Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W.
