Earl M. Macholl Jr., 67, of Baldwinsville, passed away Monday at University Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Marcellus High School and OCC. He was a Vietnam Army veteran and member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. Earl retired in 1999 as police chief after 26 years with the Town of Camillus Police Department. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed watching football and was an avid Nascar fan. Earl was predeceased by his sister, Ellen Bradshaw, in 2012; and brother, Edward, in 2011. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, the former Patricia O'Connor; sons, Brian (Dawn) of Camillus, Kevin (Tammy) of Rivera Beach, FL, Timothy (Danielle) of Camillus, and Dennis (Shena) of Constantia; grandchildren, Amanda, Alexandra, Mariah, Kevin, Joshua, John, Michael, Archer, Thomas and Bowen; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, December 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Funeral services will be Friday, December 13 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Earl will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
