Dewey Reinhardt, 74, of Camillus, passed away Sunday at Crouse Hospital from a metastases of microcystic adnexal carcinoma. Born in Oneonta, he lived in Camillus for 38 years. He was a graduate of St. Lawrence University and received his master's in business from Dartmouth College. Dewey and Joan owned and operated Agway Gardens for over 20 years. Dewey was an Adirondack 46er. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed fishing, camping, and canoeing. Dewey authored a book, Hooked, which is based on his Sub-Arctic adventure with a few brave friends. He was a very involved member of the YMCA. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Dewey loved spending time with his family and friends. He was also the master of many beloved canines Dewey was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Helen Reinhardt; and sister, Claire Henderson. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Joan "Buttercup"; daughters, Wendy (Steve) Panetta of Atlanta, GA, and Kim Reinhardt and Jen Reinhardt, both of Camillus; son, Scott (Katie) Reinhardt of Manlius; grandchildren, Katie, Sam, Matt, Syd, Cara, Bryce, Emma and Fielding; and nieces, Debbie Bornstein and Sue Henderson. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, February 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be private. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. A memorial celebration for Dewey will be held at a later date when the weather is nicer.
