Drew M. Ellis, 54, of Syracuse, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at home. Born in Vestal, he lived most of his life in Syracuse. A graduate of Vestal High School, Drew earned his master's degree from University at Albany. He was a self-employed IT engineer for over 25 years. Drew was a member and drum major of the Syracuse Highland Pipe Band and sang tenor in the Dr. Tom Dooley Choraliers. He sang and played percussion in a Celtic band named Seis. One of his passions was to sing Danny Boy with Lisa.
Drew was predeceased by his parents, Theron and Evelyn (Marsh) Ellis.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lisa Black of Syracuse; brothers, Lincoln, Jason, Clayton and identical twin brother, Dana; and sister, Roxanna Fitzgerald.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, July 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
