Dr. Richard M. Sturr, DDS, 65, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of West Genesee High School. Richard earned his bachelor's degree from Alfred University, doctoral degree from Georgetown University and was a dentist for over 39 years. He was past president of Onondaga County Dental Society and member of the 5th District Dental Society, Camillus Elks and Polish Home. Richard enjoyed camping, boating, biking, running, photography and writing. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Milton and Jane (Kermes) Sturr.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; children, Eric (Rachel Werder) Sturr of Lawrence, NJ, Jessica (Nathan) Easter of Norwalk, CT, Julie (Brad) Hawkins of Alexandria, VA and Jim (Rebecca) Weber of Baldwinsville, NY; grandchildren, Caleb Sturr, Arya, Lucas and Olivia Easter, Wesley and Margot Hawkins and Henry Weber; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, December 27 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
