Douglas P. Carr, 65, of Borodino, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at James Square Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born on Wednesday, February 5, 1941 to William and Mabel Carr of East Syracuse, he attended the North Syracuse School District. Doug was the owner of Doug's Rent-A-Boat, Restaurant and Motel in Bridgeport for many years. An avid fisherman, he wrote fishing articles for the NY Sportsman magazine and the Chittenango- Bridgeport Times. He also loved to repair cars and was a member of the Soot City Ramblers. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family. He drove for Pepsi, Pepperidge Farms, Adirondack Soda, Rubbish Removal, Centro Bus Company and West Genesee Central School District. Doug is survived by wife Donna Bernardini-Carr, along with his first wife Marilyn (Spinks) Carr, and their children; Kathy, Sue (Steve) Cooley, Judy, Doug (Jen), Dan, Sandy, Patty (Brian) Damon and Lesley (Jeff) Johnson; brothers James (Pam), Howard (Nancy), and John (Edna); sisters Beatrice (Mike) Quinn and Geraldine (Royce) Newberry; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by siblings Victor, Louise and William. Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Friends may call preceding the service from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
