Douglas M. "Ralph" Hinman

Douglas M. “Ralph” Hinman, 68, of Lakeland, passed away Wednesday June 16, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Born in Syracuse on Tuesday, April 14, 1942, he was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Doug was a graduate of North High School and served in the Marine Corps. He worked for Allied Chemical Corp. until 1983 and retired from Centro as a bus driver and was a member of Local 580 ATU. He enjoyed working part-time for SAVES Auto Body Supply in Lakeland. Other interests included driving his motor home, golfing and spending time at the casino. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to those who gave Doug exceptional care and sincere friendship and a special thanks to all their loving friends and family for their support. He will be surely and sadly missed by all. Doug was predeceased by his mother, Cora Hinman in 1997 and brother, Bob Hinman in 2001. Surviving are his wife, Judy of 46 years, daughters and sons-in-law, Chrissy and Evan Bartlett of Liverpool, Missy and Tony Morrock of Liverpool and Kimmy Hinman of Lakeland; sisters and brother-in-law, Audrey and Harold Williams of Liverpool and Beverly Fisher of Arkansas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Gordon and Eda Hinman of Fulton, Gerald and Rosemary Hinman of Syracuse and Richard and Jackie Hinman of Jordan; grandchildren, Billy, Nicole, Chelsie, Spencer, Autumn, Cortney, Kaleb, Karissa, Forrest, Brianna and Olivia; sister-in-law, Diane (golf buddy, Michael) Mallore of Warners; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, June 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 21 in North Central Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dan Williams officiating.
