Dorthey LaBeff

Dorthey LaBeff, 95, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at Crouse Hospital after a brief illness. She began her career in the food service industry at the TB Sanitarium on Onondaga Hill, then the Onondaga County Home, and retired from the Syracuse City School District as a school lunch manager. Dorthey was a communicant of Holy Family Church for over 60 years. During retirement, she sewed hundreds of lap robes, walker bags, and bibs which she donated to local hospitals, nursing homes and schools.

Dorthey was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Lawrence.

Surviving are her son, David (Tina Hunt) of Fort Myers, FL; and daughter, Diane LaBeff of Syracuse.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
