Dorothy Rolince, 89, of Central Square, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Crouse Hospital. Born and raised in West Monroe, she moved to Syracuse in 1946. A graduate of Crouse Irving School of Nursing, Dorothy was a registered nurse with Crouse Irving Hospital. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and formerly of St. Stephen's Church, where she was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was an avid seamstress and loved spending time with her family.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Paul Rolince Sr., in 2005; and daughter, Patricia Rood, in 2014.
Surviving are her sons, Joe (Mary Jo) of Jacksonville, FL, Paul Jr. (Carol) of Syracuse, Michael (Claire) of Fairfax Station, VA and Daniel (Christine) of Golden, CO; sister, Kathy McGaffick (Frank Huckabone) of Liverpool; son-in-law, Gary Rood of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, April 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 1 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Dorothy will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crouse Health Foundation, 736 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210 to help provide scholarships for students in the Pomeroy College of Nursing at Crouse Hospital.
