Dorothy Ann Roulston, 91, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. She was born and raised in Wakefield, MA and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. Dorothy was employed with the West Genesee School District as a teacher’s assistant for over 15 years. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. An avid golfer, Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge, was a talented artist, and loved traveling, especially wintering in Naples, FL with her husband during retirement. Above all, Dorothy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters, Lena, Mary, Esther, Phyllis, Rose and her brothers, Gus, Michael, Louis, John and Joseph.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Ed; daughters, Ellen (Robert) Hynes of Tully and Debbie Erhardt of Camillus; son, Edwin “Ned” of Onondaga Hill; four grandchildren, Matthew and Timothy Hynes and Sean and Connor Erhardt; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center and NCH Baker Hospital in Naples for their loving care and compassion.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 14 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Fairmount. We will be following the NYS guidelines regarding capacity and social distancing. Face coverings are required. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
