Dorothy “Dottie” A. (Szewczyk) Bielak, 91, of Camillus, passed away peacefully Friday, March 8, 2019. A lifetime resident of Camillus, Dottie was a homemaker and waitress at What's Your Beef Restaurant. A communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, she was president of the Basilica's Orchard Lake Society, Mother's Club, Rosary Society, Villa Maria Club, Parish Council and helped at Bingo. She was also president of the Polish Home Ladies Auxiliary and member of the board of directors and helped with Bingo. Dottie was also president of the Fairmount Garden Club and a master gardener. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, gardening and watching sports with her husband, John “Jaffa” but above all, loved spending time with her family.
Dottie was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, John; daughter, Susie; and sisters, Toni Mazinski and Marty Nieznalski.
Surviving are her daughter, Dede (Tom) Van Allen of Camillus; grandchildren, Allie, Matt and Chrissy Van Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, March 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 12 at 9:30 a.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
