Dorothea Adele Heesemann, 82, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018. She was the beloved daughter of Adele and August Scheidtmann and was a graduate of Hunter College. She worked for MONY and later in life, for Chase Bank.
Dorothea loved her life, family and shared much laughter and joy with them. She had many interests including bridge, skiing, camping, gardening, and enjoyed the NY Times crossword puzzle. She was an active member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life.
Dorothea was predeceased by her beloved husband, John, in 2011.
Surviving are her daughters, Gail Meyer, Janice (Randy) Cherkis and Marjorie Heesemann; and grandchildren, Stephanie and Colleen Meyer, and Breanna Cherkis. All loved her very, very much.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 5 at 2 p.m. in St. Michael's Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Yost officiating. Light refreshments will follow in Fellowship Hall. Burial will be private in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
