Doris Fitzpatrick Martin

Doris Fitzpatrick Martin, 89, of Camillus, passed away Sunday at home. Born and raised in Otisco, she was a graduate of Tully High School. Doris retired from R.E. Dietz Co. as a nurse. Prior to nursing, she worked at both Kemper and Hartford Insurance Companies. A former communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Doris served as a Eucharistic minister and started the funeral guild at the church. She was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at the church. Doris was a loyal participant in the adoration chapel at St. Joseph’s Church. She enjoyed reading and was a member of the Camillus Fire Dept. Ladies’ Auxiliary. Doris was the favorite mom to many village kids, especially the troublemakers. She has a special spot in her heart for all the village kids, especially the North Street gang and Warners crew. A devoted and loving mother, she loved spending time with her family.

Doris was predeceased by her son, Richard Drumm; parents, Carlyle and Lillian Fitzpatrick; sisters, Beth Hutson and Anne Gambell; and brothers, Ambrose and Francis (Beverly) Fitzpatrick.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Richard; daughters, Terry (Thomas) Kennedy of Camillus, Helen Connors-Groom of Arizona, and Tina (David) Underwood and Beth (Shawn) Rinaldo, both of Camillus; son, Donald Martin of Camillus; brothers, Thomas (Pamela) Fitzpatrick, Justin Fitzpatrick and Ronald (Beth) Fitzpatrick, all of Tully; brother-in-law, Jim Gambell; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, August 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will follow in the church.

Doris will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
