Doris M. Faber, 84, of Camillus, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at University Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident. Born in Lorain, Ohio, she was raised in Youngstown, Ohio and lived in Syracuse since 1962. Doris was an avid golfer, very artistic, great cook and storyteller. She had a relentless zest for life, enjoying gatherings in her home for family and friends. Wherever she was, there was laughter and a lending ear. She was a true and loyal mother and friend. Doris was predeceased by her husband, John E. Faber, in 1993; and brothers, Hank, George and Bill Doinoff. Surviving are her daughters, Michalle Faber Harmon of Syracuse, Doreen R. Faber of Jordan-Elbridge and Renee Sarakos of Solvay; sons, John E. Faber II and Michael N. Faber, both of Camillus, and Ralph D. Faber of Solvay; sister, Julia Piersant of Youngstown, OH; brother, Richard (Gloria) Doinoff of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, October 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 29 at the funeral home. Doris will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
