Donald R. Congdon, 79, of Warners, passed away Thursday at Loretto. Born and raised in Gouverneur, he moved to the Syracuse area in the late 1940’s. A graduate of West Genesee High School, Don work for 30 years as a clamp truck operator for Southern Container. He was a life member of the Warners Memphis Fire Department, an avid hunter, and loved doing woodworking. Above all, Don loved spending time with his family.
Don was predeceased by his wife, Donna in 2015 and daughter, Jean in 2012.
Surviving are his son, Mark of Warners; grandchildren, Kimberly, Stacy, Nicholas and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Zakary, Allison, Wyatt, Emma and Zoey; great-great-grandchildren, Grayson and Willow; sisters, Marlene Winters of Mallory and Sally Gates of Syracuse; brother, John Congdon; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, February 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
