Donald L. Yacavone, 74, of Camillus, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. Born in Cortland, he lived in Camillus since 1976 and was a graduate of Mohawk Community College.
Donald made a career of sales and over the years was a representative for E.W. Edwards & Sons, the Shamrock Inn, Arnolds Bakery, Penny Curtis Baking Co., George Weston & Co., and retired from Bimbo Bakeries. He enjoyed golf, SU sports, and OTB, but above all loved spending time with his family.
Donald was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Nataleine; and sisters-in-law, Ann Yacavone, Anne Reagan, Terry Cleveland, Rosemary Mooney, and Martha Skibinski.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, the former Patricia O'Connor; daughter, Amy (Robert) Figger of Liverpool; son, Donald of Cortland; brothers, Robert of Rochester and Jerry (Judy) of Florida; grandchildren, Nicholas, Sammy and Ruby; sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Karen O’Connor and Maureen Cottom; and several loved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, April 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be Friday, April 6 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave., where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Donald will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
