Donald G. Moyer, 82, of Westvale, died Monday, November 5, 2007 at home. Born in Dodgeville on Sunday, July 19, 1925, he was the son of Jarrett Grover Moyer and Ida Laubenstein Moyer. He lived in Westvale for 56 years. Donald was an Army veteran of WW II. He was employed for 39 years with Verizon, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the CWA Local 1123 Retiree Club and NY Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed taxidermy and was also a member of the DeWitt Rod & Gun Club, Anglers' Assn. of Onondaga, National Wild Turkey Foundation and Ducks Unlimited. Donald was a very quiet and caring person and enjoyed helping others. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Rosemary Baker; sons and daughter-in-law, John R. and Cheryl Moyer of Farmington, New Mexico and Donald G. Moyer Jr. of Parker, Colorado; brother, Dr. Richard Moyer of Hibbing, Minnesota; grandchildren, Kevin Moyer of Denver, Colorado and Christopher and Shelley Moyer, both of Denver, Colorado and Mary Irene and Patrick Moyer, both of Farmington, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Mary Beth (John) Vassenelli of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with the Rev. Gary Ferner officiating. Friends may call Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery.
