Donald Flath, 89, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Born in Syracuse on Wednesday, April 25, 1923, he was the son of Frank Clifford Flath and Margaret Owen Flath. He lived in Camillus since 1967 and was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the China-Burma-India Theater. Donald retired in 1981 after 35 years with the Teamsters Local 317 and was later employed by Genesee Management for 14 years as a security guard at Camillus Mall and other locations. He was a charter member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, the China-Burma-India Veterans Association and Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 30. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed music, singing and dancing. Donald was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, the former Eleanore VanDerhoff, on December 28, 2002; and brother, Earl Flath. Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-law, Frank Flath, and Randy and Nancy Flath of Camillus; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Donald Mosher of Camillus; grandchildren, Jessica Flath Taylor, Bradley and Brian Mosher, and Natasha Flath; great-grandchildren, Christian, Khiel, Chelsea and Charity Taylor, and Maggie Mosher; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Friday, January 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 5 at 9:30 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church with Rev. Heather Williams officiating. Donald will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Honor Flight Syracuse, P.O.
