Donald E. Kenney, 84, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at VA Medical Center. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, he lived in Syracuse since 1966. He was a graduate of Steinmetz High School and the University of Illinois, where he received his master's degree in engineering. He was a Navy veteran. Donald was employed with Alcan Aluminum and O'Brien & Gere and retired in 1997 from Blasland, Bouck & Lee after 10 years. A published author with McGraw-Hill, he also held a US patent for his automatic stamper. Donald was a former arbitrator for AAA. He loved dogs, was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Bears fan but above all loved his family. Donald was predeceased by his wife, Joyce, in 2011. Surviving are his daughter, Susan (Ted Spencer) Kenney of Syracuse; sons, Chris (Melinda) Kenney of Baldwinsville and Tim (Catherine) Kenney of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Jack, Jared, Joey and Caroline; and several nieces and nephews. Donald's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the VA Medical Center staff for their loving and compassionate care. Relatives and friends may call Friday, November 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 14 at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Donald will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
