Donald B. Stratton Sr.

Donald B. Stratton Sr., 80, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 19, 2014. Born in Bath, NY, he lived in Camillus for more than 15 years. Donald retired from the U.S. Air Force after more than 20 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He was the best dad in the whole wide world. Donald was predeceased by his daughter, Donna Stratton; parents, Robert and Ida Stratton; and brother, Robert Stratton Jr. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Catherine Klix; daughters, Susan (Chris Gilmore) Stratton of Portland, OR, Laura (Walter) Ranger of Liverpool and Paula (Jim) Franklin of Portland, OR; son, Donald (Martha) Stratton Jr. of Choctaw, OK; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, William of Atlanta, GA and Lynn Stratton of Staten Island; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Monday, September 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 23 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Donald will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
