Dimitar Boskovski

Dimitar “Dedo Taki” Boskovski, 94, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday. He was born on August 30, 1930, in Trnovo, Macedonia, to Nikola and Fanija. Before immigrating to the U.S. in 1970, Dimitar served in the Navy and spent four years working in Australia.

A devoted member of St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church, Dimitar was deeply rooted in his faith. His witty humor and storytelling will always be remembered, along with his passion for yard work and gardening. “Dedo Taki” was a man who loved unconditionally and gave selflessly, always proud of his family—his greatest legacy. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the cherished memories he leaves behind. 

Dimitar was predeceased by his granddaughter, Victoria Boskovski; and several siblings.

Surviving are his loving wife of 69 years, Nada; children, George (Lile) Boskovski of Syracuse, Ellie Aleksovski of Toronto, CA, and John (Julie) Boskovski of Bay Shore; grandchildren, Donna (Dann), Steve, Jacqueline, Christine (Judson), Emma, James and Jack; great-granddaughters, Colette and Zoe; and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Rest peacefully, our beloved Dedo. You will forever remain in our hearts.

To celebrate Dimitar’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church, 5083 Onondaga Rd., Syracuse. A Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 6 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church. 

Dimitar will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church.
