Diane L. Weiermann

Diane L. Weiermann, 60, of Camillus, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday at home. Born in Rome on March 10, 1963, to Herbert and Pauline Weiermann, she was a graduate of Vernon Verona Sherrill High School. Furthering her education, Diane earned her Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and Communicative Disorders from University at Buffalo.

Diane devoted her life to caring for and supporting the elderly and people with disabilities, while always being there for her friends and family. She spent her 37-year career at AccessCNY (formerly Enable) serving as Outreach Director and Home Services Director. In 2016, Diane was awarded Serving Seniors Honoree of the Year by Onondaga County Offices of Aging for outstanding and selfless contributions to the community of Onondaga County.

Diane will be greatly missed by everyone that had the good fortune of knowing her. She had an infectious smile and a wonderful laugh that would draw you in. Diane was one of the most caring and loving people you could ever meet. With every conversation you had with her, you would develop a connection that would only strengthen over time. She was a great listener and had a unique ability to make you feel comfortable and willing to share thoughts, concerns, and needs.

In her spare time, Diane loved baking Christmas cookies, cupcakes, and cakes and gifting them to family and friends. She also loved reading, going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, and watching Hallmark movies. Her family will miss her dearly.

Diane was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Pauline Weiermann, to whom she dedicated her time taking care of them in their elder years; and grandparents, Frank and Pauline Barber, and Gottfried and Emma Weiermann.

Surviving are her brother, Gary; sister, Sandra (Gene) Woodcock; nephew, Brandon (Alexis) Woodcock; niece, Amanda (Matt) McCraw; and great-niece, Emma McCraw.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, May 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home.

Diane will be laid to rest on Tuesday, May 16 at 1 p.m. in Rome Cemetery, Rome.
