Diane M. Scaramuzzino, 86, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at The Centers at St. Camillus. Born in Utica to Charles and Clara Merlini, she was the seventh of nine children. She lived in Utica before moving to Camillus in 1965. She was a graduate of St. Francis De Sales School in Utica and communicant of Holy Family Church and member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Diane worked at the Election Board and was involved with the Camillus Democratic Party. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed her family each and every day of her life with a smile. Diane was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Joseph in 2000; brothers, Charles and Joseph; and sisters, Mary, Olga, Iones, Dolores and Victoria. Surviving are her daughters, Joanne (David) Brinck of Tavares, FL, Carol (Kerry) Quilty and Rachel (Timothy) McManus, both of Liverpool; sons, Charles of Liverpool, Paul (Tammy) of Canastota and Steven (Jessica) Scaramuzzino of Fayetteville; sister, Elizabeth (Pete) Rankin of Syracuse; grandchildren, Anissa Quilty, Joseph Scaramuzzino, Daniel and Gianna McManus, Amanda and Steven Scaramuzzino, Derek Jones, Alexis, Parker and Ethan Scaramuzzino; great-grandchildren, Sofia and Harry Scaramuzzino; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Diane during the past few years she spent at St. Camillus. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, January 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at noon Wednesday, January 29 at the funeral home. Diane will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W.
