Diane E. Filipkowski, 72, of Camillus, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Valley High School. Diane was an assistant manager at the Rescue Mission for over 10 years. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, gardening, crafting, and relaxing at camp on the St. Lawrence River. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Diane had a heart of gold and always went out of her way to help others. She touched the hearts of everyone that had the pleasure and privilege of knowing her.
Diane was predeceased by her husband, Edward “Flipper” Filipkowski Jr.; and granddaughter, Skyler Rose Collins.
Surviving are her daughters, Stacey Davis and Jamie (Andy) Collins; grandchildren, Devon Freebern and Ivy Collins; sister, Deborah Fazzone; sister-in-law, Karen (Robert) Walsh; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, September 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
