Diane C. Czarny

Diane C. Czarny, 81, of Camillus, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Solvay High School and attended Sacred Heart Academy. Diane was a devoted parishioner and lector at Holy Family Church. She was a charter member of WAVES where she volunteered for 25 years. Along with her husband, Ed, she also worked with New Hope Family Services as foster parents for over 30 infants.

Diane was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife who was always there for her family. She took pride in attending the games, concerts, competitions, and special events of her loved ones. Diane was an unwavering SU basketball and football fan. Her favorite place was Southwick Beach where she camped with family and friends, watching the sunset and sitting by the campfire singing songs.

Diane was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Edward Bankowski; and first husband of seven years, Benjamin Rowell.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Edward Czarny; children, Michelle, Edward and Kenneth Rowell, and Jason (Echo) Czarny; and grandchildren, Addison, Owen, and Malorie.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, November 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 10 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.

Diane will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
