Deritha Ann “Dee Dee” Fiorelli, 76, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday at Crouse Hospital. Born and raised in Waterloo, she resided in the Syracuse area for over 50 years. Dee Dee was a graduate of Waterloo Central High School and received a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire State College. She was employed as an administrative assistant to the Dean for the College of Health Professions at SUNY Upstate Medical University for over 30 years. Dee Dee enjoyed baking and working at the polls on election days. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter, Lindsey.
Dee Dee was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Josephine; and brother-in-law, R. George Journell.
Surviving are her son, Bob (Michelle) of Camillus; grandchildren, Lindsey Fiorelli and Cameron Arlukiewicz, both of Camillus; sisters, Phyllis Journell of Camillus and Linda (Larry) Bennett of Waterloo; brother, Rev. Lewis Fiorelli, OSFS, of Vienna, VA; nephew, Larry Bennett Jr. of Waterloo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, October 14 from 9:15 to 10 a.m. at The Church of St. Michael and St. Peter, 4782 W. Seneca Tpk., Syracuse. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10 a.m. in the church.
Dee Dee will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterloo.
