David R. Dubar Sr., 75, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Born and raised in Massachusetts, he moved to the Syracuse area in 1968. He was a graduate of Athol High School and a veteran of the Air Force, proudly serving in the Vietnam War. David was employed as an operating engineer with Local 545 for over 30 years before retiring in 1996. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and former communicant of Corpus Christi Church. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed working with his hands, especially in his garden. David loved spending time at camp on Otisco Lake, watching western movies and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
David was predeceased by his wife, Joanne, in 2015; and parents, Alfonse and Olga.
Surviving are his children, Edith (James) Seymour of Marcellus, David (Jessica) Dubar Jr. of Benson, AZ, Angela (Aaron) Barbaro of Marcellus and Anthony (Cheryl) Dubar of Camillus; sister, Shirley (Daniel) Dupps of Heath, OH; brother, Albert Dubar of Athol, MA; 16 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, April 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Face coverings are required.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 24 at noon in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. David will be laid to rest in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Otisco.
