David G. Pigula, 70, of Moravia, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. Born in Syracuse, he lived in Moravia since 1988. He graduated in 1960 from West Genesee High School and Syracuse School of Technology in 1962 and was an Air Force veteran of Vietnam. David was employed by Sunoco for 43 years and also ran his family's farm for 25 years, which he enjoyed immensely. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Auburn. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, the former Sandra Baker; sons, Jeffrey (Christine) of Poughkeepsie and Brian of Moravia; sister, Kathleen Oakes of NC; brothers, Mark (Ceil) and Pete (Lorraine), both of Camillus, and Vincent (Kathy) of Fairport; granddaughter, Evelyn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, October 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 28 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. David will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
