David F. “Danny” Daniels, 75, of Camillus, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009 at Community General Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Tuesday, June 27, 1933, he was the son of Frederick Henry Daniels and Ruth Margaret Flannery Daniels. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Danny was a 1951 graduate of Central Tech and attended Syracuse University. A contractor and business partner with Roy Norton for more than 40 years, he retired in 2008. Having served in Germany, Danny was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Friends and family best remember Danny for his infectious smile, quick wit and generosity. He enjoyed traveling, cruising and sailing on Skaneateles Lake but most of all spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his sister, Sally Bertelli. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Jo Tucciarone; daughter, Diane M. Daniels of Camillus; son and daughter-in-law, David K. and Alice Daniels of DeWitt; grandchildren, Scott Hollister, Jodie and Rich Post, Brian and Megan Hollister and Paul Daniels; five great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 1, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Danny will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
