David C. Bosco, 80, of Solvay, passed away Saturday at Onondaga Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. A lifetime resident of Solvay, he was a graduate of Solvay High School. A United States Army veteran, Dave worked for Allied Chemical, was a Sheriff’s Deputy with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department and retired from the Village of Solvay after 12 years as code enforcement officer. He was a communicant of St. Marianne Cope at St. Cecilia Church. Dave was a member of the Solvay Fire Department for 53 years, where he served as past chief and past president and was a member of the Tanner Hose Social Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Dave is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia; parents, Anthony and Mary; son, David M.; and brother, Nicholas.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Anna; daughters, Darlene (Anthony) Cristantielli of Bridgeport, Cheryl of E. Syracuse, and Ashley of Liverpool; son, Anthony of Syracuse; sister-in-law, Marie of Florida; four grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, July 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Marianne Cope at St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at the church.
David will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Solvay Fire Department, 1925 Milton Ave., Solvay, NY 13209.
