Dale Lewis Wise, 71, of the village of Camillus, passed away April 10, 2008 at home after a long illness. Born in Syracuse on Wednesday, July 1, 1936, he was the son of Truman Wise and Lovina Taylor Wise Evans. He grew up in Marcellus and was a graduate of Marcellus High School. Dale lived in Camillus since 1961. Formerly employed by McLane Northeast in Baldwinsville, he retired in 1998 after more than 25 years. He was an accomplished amateur photographer and well-read man. He liked cooking and was known for his tasty soups. He loved his family and enjoyed working on his '95 Chevy wagon, "The Beast." Dale was predeceased by his sisters, Dona and Dawn Wise. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, the former Joan Fall; daughters, Marie and Kristin Wise, both of Liverpool and Janel Wise of Wellfleet, Massachusetts; great-grandson, Jonathan Yard III; sister, Dinah Wise of Syracuse; brothers and sister-in-law, Paul and Barb Wise of Galesburg, Illinois and Mark Evans of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2007 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Rev. Gregory LeStrange officiating. Friends may call preceding the service from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Warners. Contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
