Craig D. Garcia, 60, of Baldwinsville, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a 1972 graduate of West Genesee High School and received his bachelor's from Minot State College. He was an Air Force staff sergeant veteran. Craig retired from Hanover Insurance after more than 25 years and previously worked at Kemper and AIG Insurance. Most recently, he was a school monitor at Palmer Elementary School. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and member of the Mattydale VFW. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Craig was predeceased by his parents, Manuel and Helen Garcia; and granddaughter, Sabrina Roze Palmer, in 2001. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, the former Rozanne Khammar; son, Shawn of Baldwinsville; daughters, Danielle Garcia (Jeff) of Baldwinsville and Amber Garcia (David) of Brockport; sister, Karen (Ron) Canestrare of Camillus; brother, Tony (Lucy) Garcia of Liverpool; grandchildren, Lillith and Alexandria Palmer and Sophia Lover; aunt, Florence Kazel of Purcellville, VA; uncles, Frank Garcia and Mike Gaspo, both of Solvay; brothers-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, September 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 19 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.
