Constance M. Waldon

Constance (Rainone) Waldon, 92, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Auburn, NY on February 8, 1921, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Rainone. She was a graduate of Central High School and Powelson Business Institute. Connie was employed by Associated Transport & Trucking Co. and retired from Kilian Manufacturing Corp. after 28 years. An avid SU sports fan, she was a season ticketholder for football for 65 years and also enjoyed SU basketball and lacrosse. Connie was a member of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary and U.S.S. Quincy Retired Marines. She was a former communicant of St. James Church and communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She surrounded her life with her family and her family of friends. Connie was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Harold C. Waldon, and brother, Joseph Rainone. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Constance and James Anderson of Canandaigua; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Diane Waldon of Liverpool; grandchildren, Marisa (Scott) Jones, Kathleen Waldon and Christopher (Barbara) Madonna; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Victoria and Reed Jones, and Melissa and Jeffery Madonna; sisters, Teresa Crisalli and Sister Maureen Rainone, CSJ; brother, Robert (Lucy) Rainone; sister-in-law, Alda Rainone; and several nieces and nephews. As requested by Connie, there will be no calling hours. Services will be private. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus.
