Climent Smokey Mangine, 85, of Warners, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Iroquois Nursing Home surrounded by his family. Born in Syracuse on Monday, March 28, 1931, he was the son of Fred Mangine and Rose Yzzo. A lifetime resident of Warners, he graduated from Warners High School in 1938. Smokey was employed for 44 years with Crucible Steel, retiring in 1983. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and member of the Men's Club. He was also a member of the Warners Volunteer Fire Department. Smokey's wife of 49 years, the former Tana DiSi, passed away November 13, 2004 and his brother, Carl, passed away in 1929. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Rosemarie and Brian Martens of Onondaga Hill; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Teresa Mangine of Onondaga Hill; grandchildren, Anthony and Jenna Martens, Claire and Maria Mangine; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Louis Church of Onondaga Hill and Julia and Joseph Petrangelo of Camillus. Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2006 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church where Msgr. Joseph M. Champlin will celebrate a funeral Mass. Friends may call Thursday, December 14, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. from at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Attn: Memorial/Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942 or to one's favorite charity.
