Clara J. Callahan, 93, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Syracuse Home Association. Born in Syracuse on Saturday, August 12, 1916, she was the daughter of Frank Sojka and Josephine Janis Sojka. She lived in Camillus since 1960. Clara was employed by Dewitt Real Estate, Inc., retiring in 1985 and formerly worked for Schrafft's and Addis Co. A communicant of Holy Family Church, she was a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society and the Women's Eucharistic League. Clara was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred, in December 1990; sisters, Lottie Kazel, Stella Henry and Florence Karasinski; and brother, Raymond Sojka. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard F. and Kathleen Callahan of East Syracuse and David J. and Suellen Callahan of Camillus; brother, Frank Sykes of Fairmount; eight grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 15 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, March 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Clara will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
