Claire J. Godzac, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 at St. Mary’s Home at Asbury Ridge, Erie, Pennsylvania. Born in Syracuse on Saturday, October 1, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Eunice (Moreau) Ladouceur. She graduated from St. Lucy’s School and worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb and the NY Telephone Co. Claire was a wonderful mother and caregiver to many family members. Her devotion and love have been felt throughout the years by all her family and friends. Claire was predeceased by her husband, William; brothers, Raymond, Theophil and Roland Ladouceur; and sister, Jean Crowley. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Susan Godzac and Dr. Andrew Prischak of Erie, Pennsylvania; granddaughters, Amanda and Rachael Prischak; niece, Deborah Midgley; nephew, Robert Crowley; and grandnieces, Sarah and Robin Midgley and Cassandra Crowley. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary’s Asbury Ridge for their wonderful care and compassion that made Claire so happy during her stay there. Relatives and friends may call Friday, September 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15 in Holy Family Church, Fairmount. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
