Christopher M. Skantz

Christopher M. Skantz, 28, formerly of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 in Pittsburgh, PA. A 2006 graduate of West Genesee High School, he was living in Philadelphia working for Terraquarbor, LLC.

Chris was the definitive free spirit. He had no interest in spending his life accumulating material goods, opting instead to accumulate experiences. He spent his life traveling America, enjoying his beloved heavy metal music and making good friends from coast to coast. Anyone who spent any time with Chris became his friend after experiencing his creativity, generosity and humor.

Surviving are his parents, Conrad W. Skantz Jr. and Sharon M. Skantz; brothers, Timothy Skantz and Robin Skantz, all of Syracuse; grandfather, Conrad Skantz Sr. of Ypsilanti, MI; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, August 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will be Saturday, August 27 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
