Chester Orzel, 89, of Camillus, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Friday, January 6, 1922, he was the son of John Orzel and Hattie Mitsik Orzel. He lived on the west end until moving to Camillus in 1952. Chester was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from Romano Oldsmobile and previously worked for Salina Chevrolet. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. An avid hunter and fisherman, Chester was a member of the N.R.A. and the Camillus Sportsmen’s Club. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, the former Jeannette Ciciarelli; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tim Hanno of Mattydale and Melanie and Jon Davis of Syracuse; son, Gary of Camillus; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, May 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Wednesday, June 1 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
