Charlotte (Quinn) Kaleta, 85, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Community General Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Monday, February 19, 1923, she was the daughter of John Andrew Quinn and Johanna Emily Schmidt Quinn. She grew up in Tipperary Hill until moving to Camillus in the late 1950's. Charlotte enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and concerts and taking care of her neighbors. Charlotte was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Kotyra and Kathryn Nichols. Surviving are her husband of more than 50 years, William S. Kaleta; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Nancy Kaleta of Camillus and Joseph and Marilyn Kaleta of Baldwinsville; sisters, Joanna Sarnacki and Mary Jane Aylesworth; brother, John Quinn; grandchildren, Chrissy and Billy Kaleta of Camillus and Andrew and Katie Kaleta of Baldwinsville; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Pastor John Elmer officiating. Relatives and friends may call preceding the service from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Charlotte will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
