Charles F. “Charlie” Lockwood, 68, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Upstate University Hospital at Community Campus surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he lived in the Syracuse area since the 1960s and was a graduate of Cicero North Syracuse High School.
Charlie worked for Onondaga County for over 25 years, retiring in 2013. He was a devoted and strong supporter of Syracuse athletics and was a season ticket holder. Charlie was also an avid fisherman. He enjoyed playing at the Green Gate Inn and assisted living facilities with his friend, Bob Sperry as part of the Bob & Charlie Band. He loved spending time with his family, especially attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Fay.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Jackie; son, Charlie (Kristin) of Camillus; daughters, Kerri Huttar of Camillus and Elizabeth (Michael) Cirincione of Skaneateles; brother, Jeff (Joyce) of Antioch, IL; grandchildren, Olivia, Charlie, Luke, and Reed Lockwood, Natalie and Emily Huttar, Anasofia and Arianna Cirincione; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, January 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 5 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Charlie will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
