Charles Edward Gridley, 79, of Baldwinsville, died peacefully Tuesday at his home after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents; eleven siblings; daughters, Maureen and Colleen; and grandson, Jason. Chuck is survived by his wife, Maureen; son, Charles; daughters, Karen (Kopp), Kathleen (Rein), Sharon (Avery), Mary Rose (Laffey), Kelly (McIntyre) and Erin (Fallico); 33 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; sisters, Midge, Jane and Carol; and several nieces and nephews. For most of his life, Chuck worked in the grocery business, first as a store owner on the west side and then as owner of a coupon accounting firm. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Church in Fairmount and a member of the Camillus Elks Lodge. Chuck loved spending time with his family, especially at his camp on the lake, where he enjoyed boating, fishing, and sitting by the water with his wife of 56 years. He also loved watching his grandchildren at various sporting and musical events. Chuck will be dearly missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, January 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 16 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Chuck will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
