Charles E. Stallbaum, 90, of Camillus, died Sunday, November 23, 2008 after a brief illness. Born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, January 1, 1918, he was the son of Charles R. Stallbaum and Margaret V. Rechenberg Stallbaum. He was an Army Air Force veteran, having served from 1942-1946. Following his enlistment, Charlie moved to Auburn where he met and married Ruth Mather. They moved to Camillus in 1954 where Charlie sold Prudential insurance for 25 years. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and the Camillus Elks. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Charlie made many friends throughout the area and enjoyed golfing at the Camillus Country Club and bowling at Raab's. His wife, Ruth, died September 17, 1996. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Heffernan and grandchildren, Matt (Marissa) and Casey. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 303 Kasson Rd., Camillus. Friends may call Friday, November 28, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in the spring. Contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
