Cecilia "Ceil" Bertha Barnell

Cecilia “Ceil” Bertha Barnell, 80, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Francis House. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, Ceil graduated from Blodgett High School and was employed with Bell Telephone Co. and Catholic Charities. She shared her passion for card games with her friends and family, especially her grandsons. Ceil loved art and enjoyed painting, writing, music and drawing.

Ceil was predeceased by her son, Martin; parents, Joseph and Frances Daniszewski; and siblings, Deacon Joseph Daniszewski, Phyllis Vincent and Dr. Edward Daniszewski.

Surviving are her children, Mark (Shannon Knapp) Barnell, Craig (Karin Distefano) Barnell and Traci (Trey) Barnell-Miller; grandsons, Parker, Matthew, Owen, Luke and Noah Barnell and Thomas Miller; brother, Joseph Vincent; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Daniszewski and Nadine Daniszewski; dear friend, Anthony Peach; and many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Services will be private.
