Cathy Mae (Dolengo) Solarte

February 4, 1963 — December 10, 2021

Cathy Mae (Dolengo) Solarte, 58, of Camillus, lost her third and final battle with cancer, Friday, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Cathy was positive until the end and always thinking of others. Cathy grew up in the Camillus area, graduating from West Genesee High School in 1981. Shortly after, she moved to Dallas, TX where she met her husband, David. Cathy was employed by the U.S. Postal Service GMF in North Syracuse and will be deeply missed there. Always about family, they traveled the country together, calling all their trips an adventure. From quick visits to the Adirondacks, cross country to California, Florida and ventures to South America, she embraced them all, smiling and enjoying every minute with her family. Always late, her husband plans on meeting up with her in the next adventure! Rest in peace, my love.

Cathy was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Patricia Dolengo of Camillus in June, 2020.

Cathy leaves behind her husband of 36 years, David Solarte; a son, Sean (Jennifer) of Syracuse; daughter, Jennifer (Kyle) Snook of Liverpool; sisters, Karen of Syracuse, Cindy (Dan) McCarthy of Camillus; brother, Robert (Val) Dolengo of South Carolina; and Uncle Fred and Aunt Mary Jane Dolengo of Lakeland.

The family would like to thank the many healthcare workers who cared for Cathy, especially the team at Hematology-Oncology Associates of CNY and Hospice of CNY & of the Finger Lakes.

Contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
